CO2RE Intima Vaginal Rejuvenation is a non-surgical and non-hormonal laser therapy that stimulates collagen production inside and outside the vagina. This FDA-approved laser features vulvo/vaginal resurfacing capabilities that restore the vaginal lining and repair the wrinkling and descent of the labia. The result is increased lubrication, a tighter vaginal canal, and a healthy appearance of the outside tissue.
How It Works
This is a safe and quick non-surgical treatment and minimally invasive. It works by delivering controlled CO2 energy to the vaginal tissues which remodels the tissue by stimulating the new formation of collagen. The CO2 technology allows treatment of both superficial and deep skin layers, both internally and externally. The CO2RE Intima treatment is different from all other vaginal rejuvenation lasers because it can treat both the internal and external areas. It is FDA approved and is virtually safe for every woman.
PATIENT EDUCATION
CO2RE Intima treatment is an energy-based laser treatment that rejuvenates Vaginal health. Skin and soft tissue in the genital area and gynecological needs can change over time. These changes can be the result of trauma, aging or changes in hormone levels. Which can cause the skin to change in appearance (color or texture) or sensation. The CO2RE system delivers laser energy to the targeted area of the skin, including along the vaginal walls to stimulate a healing response and results in remodeling of the soft tissue. During the remodeling process, new collagen forms to revitalize the skin. This treatment has little pain and discomfort and is minimally invasive. This treatment will thicken and tone the vaginal tissue and increases circulation, improves lubrication and sensitivity and decreases incontinence.
The Intima treatment offers two treatments that may be combined: the “inner,” and the “outter.” Most patients get both treated for total rejuvenation however you may do one or the other, based on individual needs.
The “inner” treatment is a single use 360 swivel hand piece that is inserted into the vaginal canal – this allows for a complete treatment of the entire vaginal canal with laser based energy to “restructure” and heal the tissue which will tighten the vaginal canal, treat dryness, incontenence, and improve sexual experience. Most of our patients report significant improvement with all of the above after one treatment. Downtime is 1 week, and a series of 3 treatments is recommended, 4 weeks apart.
The “outer” treatment delivers a controlled beam of CO2 to your vaginal and vulvar tissue to stimulate the release of collagen creating a rejuvenated appearance and improve pigment in those intimate areas.
INTIMA VAGINAL REJUVENATION PRE/POST CARE
PRE TREATMENT
Patient must have an up-to-date normal PAP test and gynecologic exam. Patients should also be free of hair in any zone that is to be treated. Patients should not be actively menstruating or about to start their cycle.
PRIOR TREATMENT
- After the treatment you may apply a water based lubricant or Aquaphore
- Gently cleanse the area with mild soap and water twice per daY
- Avoid sexual intercourse for 7 days
- No tampon use for 7 days
- No tub baths, Jacuzzis, or swimming until skin is completely healed. No douching for 7 days.
NEXT TREATMENT
Treatments should be scheduled 4 weeks apart for best results. A consecutive series of 3 sessions is recommended, once series is completed, it is recommended to perform one treatment once a year to maintain results.
